Exploring the Market Watch Tab: Watchlists

The Watchlist feature on Independent Direct allows you to track your favourite securities and stay updated on their performance. Follow these steps to create and manage your personalized watchlist.

1. Navigate to the Watchlist tab in the Market Watch section of Independent Direct. This is where you can create, view, and modify your list of securities.

2. Adding Securities to Your Watchlist:

• In the Watchlist tab, click the (+) Add Symbol button
• A search bar will appear where you can type the ticker symbol or name of the security you want to track
• Select the desired security from the search results to add it to your watchlist

 

3. Managing Your Watchlist: Once you’ve added securities, you can manage your watchlist to suit your needs:

• Manage Columns: Customize the data columns (such as price, volume, change percentage) to view the information most relevant to you by clicking on the “Manage Columns” button
• Remove Securities: To remove a security from your watchlist, simply click the trash icon next to its name
• Rearrange Securities: You can rearrange the order of the securities by dragging and dropping them

 

4. Using Multiple Watchlists: Independent Direct allows you to create multiple watchlists to organize securities by category or strategy. To create a new watchlist click the Widget Icon and tap “Watchlist”.

5. Viewing Security Info: You can click on any security in your watchlist to view more details. This lets you quickly get a snapshot of a security’s performance without leaving the watchlist.

You can also use the widget “Security Info” to expand the information on your security in real time, which makes trading easy.

Synchronizing Watchlists with Other Widgets

For a more streamlined experience, you can synchronize your watchlist with other widgets, such as Charts or News. When you select a security in the watchlist, the linked widgets will automatically display the relevant data for that security.

The Watchlist feature on Independent Direct is a powerful tool for monitoring your favourite securities and making informed trading decisions.

You can create a personalized dashboard that keeps you updated on market movements by customizing your Market Watch tab and linking it to other widgets.
